| Bianca Jasmine Lawson (born March 20, 1979) is an American actress. Lawson was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Denise (née Gordy) and Richard Lawson, a soap opera actor. Lawson started acting at the age of nine. She has appeared in television commercials for Barbie and Revlon and in several television shows. Most prominent of these being Buffy the Vampire Slayer, where she portrays Kendra Young, another vampire Slayer who is awakened as a result of the temporary death of title character Buffy Summers in the first season finale. Arguably, her second most noteworthy appearance was on Dawson's Creek, another television series on The WB, where she portrayed Nikki Green, the daughter of the high school's new Principal and introduced as a fierce competitor to Dawson Leery, that show's title character.
